We’re still reflecting on the impact of our inaugural Mental Health Careers Conference—and feeling incredibly grateful. This event has been in the works since late fall of 2025, and to finally see it come to life was a meaningful milestone for the Latinx Therapist Project and our community.
With 100+ attendees, the conference brought together students, licensed clinicians, educators, and employers for a full day centered on access, clarity, and connection within the mental health field. From keynote conversations to breakout sessions, panels, and a vibrant networking and resource fair, the energy in the room made one thing clear: our communities are actively seeking pathways into behavioral health careers and are ready to step into these roles.
We are especially grateful to our partners at Front Range Community College – Westminster, and to Amber Phebus and Claire Cronin, whose collaboration, support, and shared vision made this event possible. We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Adams County, whose investment as a grant partner helped bring this initiative to life and continues to support workforce development in our community.
For a first-time event, we were incredibly encouraged by the feedback we received, including an average rating of 4.7/5 stars. Many participants shared how valuable the space was and even expressed a desire for a longer conference, affirming the need for more opportunities like this. We were also inspired by the strong interest not only from attendees, but from facilitators, panelists, and organizations who were eager to contribute their time and knowledge.
This event would not have been possible without the dedication of our facilitators, panelists, and table partners, who showed up with intention, generosity, and a deep commitment to supporting the next generation of mental health professionals. We also want to recognize Mariam Lara for leading the event planning with such care and coordination, and Bridget Sanchez for her long-standing vision in creating spaces like this for our community.
As we continue to reflect, we are excited about what’s ahead. Our goal is to grow this conference into an ongoing LTP initiative that continues to uplift, inform, and connect those interested in mental health careers, especially within Latinx and bilingual communities.
